She was so strong that every man started fearing her. She was the face of a strong woman.

Despite her incredible accomplishments, Hamida Banu faced significant opposition and criticism from those who felt threatened by her success. Many male wrestlers refused to compete against her, while others were angry and resentful that a woman had proven herself to be their equal. This did not deter her, however, as she continued to compete and win, earning a place in history as the first Indian woman wrestler.

Her popularity was such that people knew everything about her, including her height, weight, and food habits. Hamida Banu changed people’s minds about women’s wrestling, which was previously considered a male-only sport.

She consumed 5.6 kg of milk, 3 kg of soup, and 2 liters of fruit juice. She also had 1 whole chicken, around 1 kg of mutton, 450 g of butter, 6 eggs, and 1 kg of almonds. In addition, she ate 2 big chapatis and 2 plates of biryani.

Hamida Banu’s dream was to go to Europe and compete with European wrestlers, but unfortunately, Salam Pehlwan did not like this idea and stabbed her, ending her dream. Unfortunately, she could not fulfill her dream of competing in Europe. Hamida Banu continues to inspire people today as the first Indian woman wrestler, and Google even pays tribute to her through a doodle.
